R.A.C. argues that the “status quo” at the time of trial was week-on, week-off equal parenting time. He argues that the onus is on V.L.C. to justify a change in the status quo, and she has not met this onus, and so the status quo should be preserved: Poole v. Poole, 1999 BCCA 203, 64 B.C.L.R. (3d) 70. What the authorities speak of, when considering the status quo, is the importance of providing stability for a child: Poole v. Poole, at paras. 23-25.
