It is not the law that steps must be taken to avoid all accidents. The standard imposed is of reasonable conduct. No one is bound to act so to rule out any possibility of accident (Swift v. The question is whether the defendant took reasonable care to ensure that the chairs used by its patrons were reasonably safe in the circumstances.
