[12] The father’s counsel objected to the introduction of these statements and I conducted a voir dire to determine whether the reception of the evidence in this form was necessary and whether the statements were sufficiently reliable, as required by The Queen v. Khan, [1990] 2 S.C.R. 531, 113 N.R. 53, 41 O.A.C. 353, 59 C.C.C. (3d) 92, 79 C.R. (3d) 1, 1990 CanLII 77, [1990] S.C.J. No. 81, 1990 CarswellOnt 108. I gave oral reasons in the course of the hearing for my decision to admit the statements and drawings. The transcripts of the two society interviews were made an exhibit, as were the audio tape and video tape. Counsel consented to my listening to the audio tape and watching the video tape, and I have done so.
