On September 23, 2013, the trial judge found M.G.T. guilty of assault, sexual assault and unlawful confinement of his wife. The judge recorded a conviction for sexual assault and stayed the other findings of guilt on the basis of Kienapple v. The Queen, 1974 CanLII 14 (SCC), [1975] 1 S.C.R. 729.
