In Pecore v. Pecore, 2007 SCC 17, [2007] 1 S.C.R. 795, it was determined that in circumstances where a parent places funds in a joint account with an adult independent child, the presumption of advancement does not apply, as it does with respect to minor children where the parental obligation to support dependent children justifies the presumption.
