There had been correspondence from the mother’s counsel seeking updated financial information. The father was not particularly responsive to the demands for his updated financial statements. He should not be rewarded for ignoring his obligations to provide that information. There is no requirement that the notice to seek retroactive support be formal. As long as the payor parent is made aware of the issue, that is sufficient: Petersen v. Petersen, 2007 BCSC 497 at para. 14.
