I accept the submission of the Attorney General for Canada that the defendants have not found the "middle ground" such as was the case in Wilson v. B.C. (Med. Services Comm.). I am unable to characterize liberty to contract as anything other than a pure economic right unless the contract involves some activity which is itself a right protected under s. 7 of the Charter.
