How have solicitor’s costs been recovered from a garnishee order?

Saskatchewan, Canada

The following excerpt is from Fife v. Mclaren, 1913 CanLII 233 (SKDC):

The last case to which I shall refer is Shippey v. Gray (1880) 49 L.J.C.P. 524, 42 L.T. 673. In that case judgment was recovered in the action in which the solicitor’s costs arose, on January 23, 1878, and on January 25th an ex parte garnishee order was obtained.
