Is a 90% deduction for motor vehicle expenses valid?

Ontario, Canada

The following excerpt is from Molson v. Molson, 2006 CanLII 44277 (ON SC):

In Omah-Maharajh v. Howard, the father was a medical doctor and deducted 90% of his total expenses. Johnstone J. concluded that some deduction for motor vehicle expenses was valid in light of the fact that the father had to travel to the hospital a few times a day and also travel within the region. However, in the judge’s view, a 90% reduction was excessive. He allowed 75% of the motor vehicle expense claim as reasonable.
