An amendment under Rule 132 will be allowed when no injustice will result, the amendment is meritorious, not intended to embarrass the other party and plead with sufficient particularity. An amendment should not, however, be granted when an opposing party would be seriously and “irremediably injured”: Ilic v. Calgary Sun, supra at paragraph 11. (b) The Defence of Qualified Privilege
