The court should take a generous approach to the question of amendments to ensure that, so far as possible, all matters in controversy between the parties may be completely and finally determined. The court will not allow useless amendments or amendments that are in violation of the rules that govern pleadings. These rules include the requirements relating to conciseness, material facts and particulars and the prohibition against pleadings that disclose no reasonable claim or are otherwise scandalous, frivolous or vexatious: Navarro v. Doig River First Nation, 2016 BCSC 2006 at para. 62.
