The court may impute income where a spouse has failed to contribute to their own support or make sufficient efforts to support themselves. This will result in the court in imputing income that will reduce the burden of the payor spouse to contribute. See Van Gool at para. 33, 34 and 38; Jendruck v. Jendruck, 2014 BCCA 320 at para. 16.
