Does a three year hiatus from school constitute a three-year hiatus for a child of the marriage to be reinstated as a Child of the Marriage?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from F.J.L. v. S.L.L., 2005 BCSC 1189 (CanLII):

Thus, despite the fact that both children had taken some time away from school, the burden for reinstatement as a child of the marriage becomes more onerous over time. In Lawless v. Asaro, supra, the court was of the opinion that a “three-year hiatus is sufficient to relieve the applicant from his support obligations in these circumstances.”
