To take the matter a step further, it was held in Rex v. Peters 1943 CanLII 417 (SK QB), [1943] 1 WWR 487, 80 CCC 158, that the attorney-general of Canada had no right to appeal against the dismissal of an information laid by a representative of the war time prices and trade board. There the appeal was launched by “His Majesty the King represented by the Attorney General of Canada.”
