What are the implications of the Social Security Aggravations (SSAG) in determining spousal support?

Ontario, Canada

The following excerpt is from Cockerham v. Hanc, 2015 ONCJ 736 (CanLII):

[99] In Lust v. Lust, 2007 ABCA 202, the court indicated that the SSAG’s do not take the place of a proper analysis of establishing the appropriate level of spousal support needed in each particular case. The SSAG’s are not a formula to be applied without due consideration of issues of entitlement and the specific factors applicable to any given support case.
