Recognizing the respondent's already-heavy expenses, I award the claimant spousal support in the mid-range. Moreover, it is retroactive to February 2015. I do not accept that the respondent was entitled to hold off on spousal support until the claimant quantified an amount for him. Post-separation, the claimant was entitled to support that provided a standard of living "reasonably commensurate with that enjoyed during the [relationship] and which compensated [her] to the extent possible, for the losses she had suffered": Tedham v. Tedham, 2005 BCCA 502, at para. 52.
