There is no absolute rule for determining the duration of a spousal support order or a “magical cut off date” for support. In the case of a lengthy marriage with a clear entitlement to spousal support having been established, the weight of authorities favour an indefinite order: Bockhold v. Bockhold, 2010 BCSC 214 at para. 56.
