No explanation for the delay is required prior to the relevant period of delay, namely the limitation period plus one year for service. When an explanation is required, solicitor inadvertence has been accepted as reasonable (Weinlich v. Campbell et al, 2005 BCSC 1865 at paras. 46, 50, 51).
