What is the test for pleading guilty in a criminal case?

Saskatchewan, Canada

The following excerpt is from R. v. Blondeau, 1943 CanLII 137 (SK CA):

Since Rex v. Brook, supra, is expressly founded upon Harrup v. Bayley, supra, the effect of it is that where an accused person pleads guilty to a charge he has no legal grounds for saying that he is aggrieved if the magistrate convicts him, and he cannot therefore afterwards be allowed to reopen the question of his guilt or innocence upon the facts.
