The following excerpt is from R v Tim, 2020 ABCA 469 (CanLII):
“The ‘reasonable person’ is presumed to have the knowledge and experience … of a knowledgeable and experienced police officer”: R v Juan, 2007 BCCA 351 at para 19. As well, a judge is entitled to consider the police officer’s training and experience in determining objective reasonableness: R v. Rajaratnam, 2006 ABCA 333 at para 25.
