What are the consequences of a frivolous and vexatious pleadings?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from CIBC v. Chesney, 2001 BCSC 625 (CanLII):

When I gave my decision in National Leasing v. Top West Ventures I had assumed that the peculiar pleadings I was dealing with were the unique product of an eccentric litigant. It appears, however, that I was wrong. I am now confronted with very similar pleadings filed by a different defendant, and I am told that several more such works have been filed in this court. This is not eccentric, it is frivolous and vexatious, period.
