Marriage is a partnership. Each partner’s contributions to the marriage is recognized as having equal value and importance. In recognition of this, each spouse is entitled to the equalization of the net family property: section 5(7) Family Law Act R.S.O. 1990, c. F.3. [1]; Reeson v. Kowalik, [1991] O.J. No. 1634 (C.J.).
