Joint custody is not appropriate since the parents do not “communicate sufficiently well to be able to make important and necessary decisions regarding the child.” [per Smith J.A. in Schick v. Woodrow, supra] It is clear that both parents have contributed to the poor communication between them and I do not attribute sole blame to either of them. The parents are encouraged to get over their past and communicate effectively regarding the best interests of their wonderful young boy and spare him the hurt and anguish of further parental conflict.
