Is it permissible for the state to introduce testimony that was given by the accused at a probation revocation hearing?

California, United States of America

The following excerpt is from People v. Jasper, 191 Cal.Rptr. 648, 33 Cal.3d 931, 663 P.2d 206 (Cal. 1983):

The first case to address this issue was People v. Coleman (1975) 13 Cal.3d 867, 120 Cal.Rptr. 384, 533 P.2d 1024. There, the question was posed as to whether it would be permissible for the state to introduce, [663 P.2d 210] during a criminal trial, testimony which was given by an accused at a prior probation revocation hearing.
