How have courts dealt with motions to quash and traverse a sealed search warrant and to disclose the identity of a confidential informant?

California, United States of America

The following excerpt is from People v. Rios, E064361 (Cal. App. 2017):

motions to quash and traverse the sealed search warrant and to disclose the identity of the confidential informant. (People v. Hobbs (1994) 7 Cal.4th 948, 959, 964, 972-977.) Probable cause justified the issuance of the search warrant. The informant was not a material witness to this case, and therefore his identity was not necessary to defendant's case.

The judgment is affirmed.
