The following excerpt is from Quereshi v. Toronto (Board of Education), 2006 CanLII 63704 (ON SCDC):

General questions of law, however, should be reviewed on a standard of "correctness". For example, in the case of Berg v. University of British Columbia, 1993 CanLII 89 (SCC), [1993] 2 S.C.R. 353 (S.C.C), at 369, Lamer J. noted: "the superior expertise of a human rights tribunal does relate to fact finding and adjudication in a human rights context, but does not extend to general questions of law".
