Elliott is entitled to be compensated for his loss of earning capacity, not only for the years he will actually live, but also for the years that he would have lived, but has now lost, as a result of his injury. However, he is not entitled to recover that portion of his income that he would have spent and not saved for his estate during the lost years period: Toneguzzo-Norvell v. Burnaby Hospital, supra.
