Does the lodestar method apply in civil rights litigation?

⁸ The Civil Rights Attorney's Fees Awards Act of 1976, 42 U.S.C. 1988 (Fees Act) authorizes courts to award reasonable attorney fees to prevailing parties in civil rights litigation using the lodestar method.
