Defendant cites to Peruta v. County of San Diego (9th Cir. 2016) 824 F.3d 919, cert. den. (2017) 137 S.Ct. 1995 [198 L.Ed.2d 746]), to claim the individual right to bear arms extends outside the home. However, he cites to the dissenting opinion, which made that argument. (Id. at p. 946.) The majority actually held "the Second Amendment does not preserve or protect a right of a member of the general public to carry concealed firearms in public." (Id. at p. 924.)
