In People v. Valtakis (2003) 105 Cal.App.4th 1066 (Valtakis), the court held that defendant's failure to object to fees imposed pursuant to Penal Code section 1203.1b waived the error on appeal. Valtakis found that the antiwaiver language in the statute did not speak to appellate review and that counsel still needed to preserve claims for appellate review by lodging an appropriate objection.
