In Dobson v. Al-Kassab, 2013 BCSC 1933, the court noted that debts incurred as a result of consent orders followed shortly by an assignment into bankruptcy would be scrutinized very carefully on an application for discharge. That is certainly an accurate statement of the law but not, in my view, appropriate in these circumstances.
