The narrow grounds at common law on which a trial judge may refuse to enter judgment in accordance with a jury verdict were also set out in Fasfous v. Provigo Distribution Inc., [2005] O.J. No. 4668 at paragraph 14: Accordingly, the trial judge must enter judgment consistent with the jury’s findings, unless the verdict is without legal foundation or utterly devoid of evidentiary support.
