83. The court must now evaluate whether there is a continued need for state intervention to protect the children and consider what disposition would be in their best interests. In balancing the best interests of the children with the need to prevent indeterminate state intervention, the best interests of the children must always prevail. The examination must have a child-centred approach and cannot solely focus on the parent's parenting ability. CAS of Toronto v. R. (T.), (supra).
