It is settled law that appellate courts should generally not interfere with orders exercised within a judge’s discretion unless that discretion has been exercised on the basis of an erroneous principle: Soulos v. Korkontzilas, 1997 CanLII 346 (SCC), [1997] 2 S.C.R. 217.
