What is the standard for reviewing an appeal from a court on a point of law?

Appeals from decisions of courts on points of law are reviewed for correctness. An error of law which is extractable from a mixed question of fact and law similarly is subject to the correctness standard. Factual matters, including inferences, and mixed questions of fact and law with no extractable error of law are reviewed for palpable and overriding error. Housen v.
