16 These cases are not of great assistance. Here we do not have a bargain between the parties. There was no "if you will sign I will give up maintenance rights". There was a request to consent to the adoption, and an agreement that even the lawyers felt did not need to be adjudicated on, that maintenance would cease on the adoption being completed.
